10 Vah Rudania Divine Helm
The Heat-fighting Callback
The Vah Rudania Divine Helm is one of four divine helm armor pieces in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Each one is inspired by one of the divine beasts of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and in this case, the Vah Rudania piece increases Heat Resistance. It can be found in a chest near a lake at Death Caldera, which can be found near Death Mountain in the Northeast corner of the map.
As with the other four Divine Helm armor pieces, this can also be acquired through the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Amiibo feature. This item specifically requires the Zelda: BOTW Daruk Amiibo.
9 Sapphire Circlet
Heat-Resistant Headgear
The Sapphire Circlet is a piece of Armor containing a Sapphire gem. As with all Sapphire Gems in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, they contain elemental properties. These gems provide frost effects, which include lowering Link's body temp if attached to a weapon or shield he carries.
Since it is already attached to the armor, it will still provide the same benefit. To obtain it, Link will need to purchase it from the Starlight Memories Jewelry shop in Gerudo Town for 1,400 Rupees.
8 Island Lobster Shirt
One-off Tunic
The Island Lobster Shirt is one of the more humorous pieces of armor in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It will increase Link's heat resistance when worn, making it great for places like the Gerudo region, where temperatures are scorching. Since this is just one individual piece, players can pair it with items from other sets, such as the Ember set that increases attack power in heat, to gain additional boosts.
The Island Lobster Shirt can be obtained from a chest in the water near the shop of Lurelin Village on Korne Beach. Note, however, that pairing it with other pieces from a set means Link will miss out on the set bonus that he gets for wearing all three pieces of a set of armor.
7 Desert Voe Armor Set
A Gerudo Necessity.
The Desert Voe armor set, which is not shockingly from Gerudo Town in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, is specifically designed for Gerudo and provides Link with heat resistance. It consists of three pieces: the Desert Voe Headband, Spaulder, and Trousers.
All three pieces will be purchased in the Gerudo region. The headband can be found at the Kara Kara Bazaar for 450 Rupees, but the Skirt and Trousers can only be found in the Secret Fashion Club in Gerudo Town. The trousers will cost 650 Rupees, and the skirt will cost 1,300 Rupees.
6 Ember Armor Set
Found At a Familiar Site
The Ember Armor set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is unlike the Desert Voe set in that instead of providing heat resistance, it will increase attack power in warm weather conditions. It is a three-piece set with the Ember Headdress, Shirt, and Trousers.
Unfortunately, this set cannot be purchased. Instead, each individual piece will need to be found. The Ember Headdress can be found inside the YunoboCo HQ Cave, the Shirt can be found in the Goronbi River Cave, and the trousers will be in the Cephla Lake Cave. As these items are all around the Death Mountain area, players must dress for the heat if they want to gather them.
5 Flamebreaker Armor Set
An Early, But Costly, Set
The Flamebreaker Armor set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one of the more interesting. Though a heat-related set, it does not provide traditional heat resistance or raise attack power where the weather is warm. Instead, its boost is described as being flame resistant and, when fully equipped, fireproof.
It comes in three pieces: the Flamebreaker Helm, Armor, and Boots. Luckily for players, all three pieces are for sale at the armor shop in Goron City. Unfortunately, they will cost quite a bit of money each, so if Link will be wearing the full set, then be sure to stock up on Rupees before dropping by.
Selling items, cooking, and collecting ingredients are all ways to make rupees fast in Tears of the Kingdom. These are best if you want to afford the costly heat resistance gear as soon as possible.
The Flambreaker Helm is going to cost 1,400 Rupees, the Armor is going to be 700 Rupees, and the Boots are going to be 1,200 Rupees. This means Link will pay over 3,000 Rupees to take home all three. However, though it may seem unnecessary, it is worth exploring certain areas of Death Mountain, and there is one other use that may be of interest.
One of the dragons, in particular, has a very heated body temperature, so for those looking to land and scavenge for materials, this set can allow Link to do so safely and without taking any damage.
4 Chilly Elixir Item

Aside from armor, which gives a static bonus to heat resistance, recipes for both meals and elixirs are a great way to combat heat if you’re in a pinch. The Chilly Elixir easily ranks among the best options that can temporarily defend Link against heat debuffs, whether it be desert or volcanic.
To fulfill this recipe, you must have either one Cold Darner or Winterwing Butterfly. Cold Darner can be purchased for ten rupees from Beedle at the Kara Kara Bazaar, and Winterwing Butterflies are found around Hyrule Ridge.
Monster Parts include various drops from enemies such as Bokoblins, Gibdo, Gleeok, Hinox, and other common monster types.
Although the Chilly Elixir can increase Link’s heat resistance, you should be aware that consuming this Elixir does not restore any hearts. Like other potions and Elixirs, these consumables are purely for the described status effect. Also, the higher the quality of the monster parts you put into the Elixir, the longer the heat resistance effect will last. The potion maxes out at 11:30, but you may only receive a five to ten-minute effect if you use lower-quality monster parts.
3 Chilly Seafood Rice Balls

The Chilly Seafood Rice Balls are a low-cost option for players who need to withstand high-heat areas but may not have proper gear yet. To make this meal, all players need is Hylian Rice and Chillfin Trouts. The best place to get Hylian Rice is Gerudo Town or Hateno Village, as both general stores are frequently stocked with the reagent. Chillfin Trout is most often found in the water by Tabantha Frontier or the Hebra Mountains.
Like most recipes in Tears of the Kingdom, the effectiveness of the status effect entirely depends on the quality and quantity of your ingredients. If you add four Chillfin Trohen you can expect the full 11-minute heat resistance effeIf there is any Any leand the duration of the effect will surely decrease. Due to this, you should acquire any Chillfin Trout that you might find on your way to make sure you get the maximum benefit every time.

The mushroom ingredient, Chillshrooms, is found abundantly in any icey region of Hyrule, particularly in the Gerudo Highlands, Hebra Mountains, or Mount Lanayru. As the name may suggest, you can find Goron Spice in Goron City at either Tanko’s General Store or the traveling merchant Yammo.
Recipes and Elixirs do not provide permanent buffs against heat like armor might, so be sure to create large quantities of this dish if you intend to go to high-heat zones.
Both of these ingredients are easily found or purchased. You need a few minutes with heat resistance; then, you only need one reagent to make this dish. It’s much better to keep multiple chillshrooms on you at all times, as then you can get the max duration, which is 11:30 total. Naturally, the best way to combat the heat in Tears of the Kingdom is to acquire gear that gives permanent heat resistance, so long as it is equipped, but recipes and Elixirs are both quick options.

The Chilly Mushroom Skewer is by far the best recipe in Tears of the Kingdom regarding heat resistance. The biggest draw of this dish is the extremely long heat resistance buff duration and the cost-effectiveness of the recipe. Most recipes that give heat resistance require multiple ingredients, but the Chilly Mushroom Skewer only requires two to five Chillshrooms.
Chillshrooms are easily found in any snowy area of the game, and it’s best to stock up on these reagents as soon as you come across them. All you need is a functioning pot; then, you can craft mass amounts of Chilly Mushroom Skewers.
As with almost all recipes in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which provide beneficial effects, the quality and quantity of ingredients will determine the buff’s duration. Adding five total Chillshrooms gives you the maximum heat resistance duration. Although you can always add more chillshrooms, it won’t provide any further increase for this duration.
Also, like other recipes, this will only restore a small number of hearts and should be used to prioritize the buff rather than any healing effects. If you’re going through any high-heat environment in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are few recipes better than the Chilly Mushroom Skewer.
